Project description

The main purpose of the Support Program to Rural Municipalities of western Burkina Faso for natural resources and land management (PACOF/GRN) was to contribute, in the West of Burkina Faso, in economic growth (via investments) and in poverty reduction (via the increase of incomes) in rural areas by the land tenure security of the rural actors and by the promotion of a sustainable and joint management of natural resources. The Project, whose Project Management was ensured by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, Sanitation and Food Security (MARHASA) and more specifically the Directorate-General for Land, Training and the Organisation of the Rural World (DGFOMR), was intended to make operational the 034-2009 /AN law of the 16th of June 2009 concerning the rural land tenure and to coordinate it with the dynamics of sustainable communal economic development through the technical and financial strengthening of the involved local actors.
