Project description
In accordance with the National Livestock Development Plan (PNDE), the Support Project for the Bovine, Leather and Skin Sector (PAFIB) aimed to promote exports of by-products of the Chadian livestock/meat sector by ensuring: i) better compliance with sanitary and phytosanitary standards according to international standards; ii) and support towards the organisation of actors in the bovine, leather and skin sector (breeders, traders, tanners).
Services provided
The final evaluation of the PAFIB after 4 years of implementation made it possible to evaluate: 1) The methodology for implementing the Financing Agreement;2) The relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of the actions implemented by the PAFIB; 3) The level of achievement of the results of the two NGO grant recipients; 4) The sustainability of actions carried out, and 5) The satisfaction level of stakeholders and the impact on the program’s beneficiary populations. Finally, relevant measures and recommendations were proposed to guide the program in its operational and institutional strengthening at regional and national levels and the relevance of an extension of the project through a similar approach was analysed.
CA 17 International had mobilised 1 international zootechnician expert, Head of Mission for 1.04 M-M and a technical backstopping team at its headquarters.
