Project description
Following the passage of Hurricane Matthew in October 2016, the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MANRRD) implemented a set of actions constituting an appropriate response to the emergency situation of the populations. Some of them were carried out by the Strengthening of Agricultural Public Services’ Project (RESEPAG II). In this context, emergency support was provided to farmers irrigating the Avezac and Dory-Cavaillon areas in the South department via an operator, to enable them carry out the 2016/2017 winter bean campaign.
Services provided
CA 17 International has been tasked with providing agricultural incentives to more than 3,000 winter bean producers, while ensuring technical monitoring. These producers thus benefited from full support for ploughing services and agricultural inputs (seeds and fertilizers), in line with the technical procedures promoted by RESEPAG II. This was notably made possible by the deployment of a field team coached by highly successful managers in the implementation of the following activities: i) identification of beneficiaries and suppliers of agricultural inputs; ii) information and advice to producers and suppliers; iii) distribution of incentives; iv) organisation and supervision of deliveries and payments; and v) land tracking.
