MALI: Technical Assistance in support of the executing agency of the Regional Chambre of Agriculture, Segou in the framework of the project component “Support to the agricultural exploitation of the land use planning inititiative.”

Project description

CA 17 International mobilised Technical Assistance intended to provide support to the Regional Chamber of Agriculture of Ségou in the conduct of delegated project management, through:

• Support for administrative and management aspects in the implementation of funding, including procurement proceedings;
• Support in the implementation and monitoring of activities (R&D, support to the Faranfasi So federation and to the Service Delivery Centers, family farm’s management boards, training, support for consultation).

The Technical Assistance helped develop an adapted approach for rural advice in the area and develop a disseminating method of results to producers and their organisations.

Project goals

The Office du Niger Development Support Program (PADON) aimed to promote growth and reduce poverty in rural areas of the Office du Niger by increasing, in a sustainable manner, the incomes of producers in the area.

Services provided

CA 17 International supported the Regional Chamber of Agriculture of Ségou in the consolidation of its representation/ consultation mission and in the development of a provision of services towards its nationals – Farmers and Professional Agricultural Organisations.

CA 17 International, through its short-term support and its long-term technical assistance, supported the Regional Chamber of Agriculture of Ségou in the preparation of the procedures’ manual for the Regional Fund for Support to the Agricultural Sector Development, in the training of the different actors involved in the modalities of operation and implementation of this fund and on the roles and responsibilities of each one of them (launch and monitoring of the call for projects, project selection process, etc.)
