Project description
The Decentralization Support Program, as a joint program of cooperation between Mali and Denmark, regards decentralisation as the main political reform towards the democratic consolidation and fight against poverty. The Decentralisation Support Program aims to strengthen the connection between the experiences of Territorial Communities and orientations of national institutions and of Technical and Financial Partners.
Project goals
The objective of Technical Assistance (TA) to the Regional Council of Sikasso is to strengthen the capacity of the Regional Council in the management of its Regional Economic-Development Plan (DER), and more specifically in the fields of leadership, planning, monitoring & evaluation for the DER, administration, coordination and communication. In addition, the TA must assist the RC in implementing DANIDA’s support, as defined in the 2017-2022 Development Commitment.
Services provided
The TA aims to strengthen the Regional Council’s capacities in the decentralisation’s implementation framework reform, in which Regional Governments play a central role. The TA will provide:
- Long-term structuring transversal support at an institutional and organisational level (including M&E) based on a comprehensive initial diagnosis;
- Specific support for the realisation and the M&E of relevant structuring investments aimed at ensuring efficient, effective regional economic development and in response to the needs of economic actors.
