Project description

CA 17 International covered the following activities:

  • Analysis of the regulatory framework governing the agricultural pesticides sector and its degree of harmonisation within the FAO’s Code of Conduct and the relevant international conventions ratified by Tunisia;
  • Analysis and exploitation of data as extracted from the inventory of obsolete pesticide stocks, in order to anticipate or even prevent the causes that were the origin of their formation;
  • Description and monitoring of the route/life cycle of the most commonly used pesticides in Tunisia;
  • Promotion of integrated pest and vector control;
  • Identification of awareness actions and training needs;
  • Development of a national action plan

Project goals

The objective of the study was to make a diagnosis of the management and use of pesticides for the development of the national action plan towards prevention of future obsolete stocks.
