Project description

CA 17 International organised an exchange programme between Egyptian agricultural decision-makers and their counterparts in France. The Egyptian officials visited the French public bodies that played an important role in research and extension (DRAF, CRA, General Council and ANDA).

Visits were held to agricultural research institutes in France (such as INRA, ITCF and the Stockbreeding Institute, among others), to cover all areas of animal and plant production. The links between INRA, ITCF and the Chambers of Agriculture were presented to the Egyptian delegation to demonstrate how agricultural research is translated into application by French farmers.

Project goals

The main objective of the Regional Council for Agricultural Research and Extension (CRRV) was to encourage researchers towards applied research so that the results obtained are quickly popularised to Egyptian farmers. In order to rapidly achieve economic application in the private sector of production, the council decided to classify the multiple research topics according to four themes: Cereals, Aquaculture, Milk production, Biological control.
